The Illuminating Blogger award was sent my way from the lovely rohan7things, who you can take a look at by clicking that link. He also has a youtube channel if you care for a peak.

The rules for this one are simple enough: post the award, thank the person who nominated you (I like that that is a rule, as if they need to say it because people are flaking on the nice people who like their blogs), share a few words about yourself and pass it on to another 5 bloggers.
To me this award says that the blogger lights up your reader. Illuminating, right? Warmth, light, friendliness. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, or giving myself far too much credit but that is what I’ll be passing it on in the name of. Warm friendly people brace yourselves.
A bit about me: I’m a lazy good-for-nothin’ who spends too much time thinking about candy and not enough time working it off. I found out today that I’m apparently Yugoslavian according to one parent. I have no idea if this is the right European country, I just know that if you’re considering adoption make sure you get all the information you can about the birth parents histories etc because kids are gonna want to know their ancestry.
Illuminating Bloggers:
- GentleStitches
- Braith an’ lithe
- Life of Bun
- Your Daily Dose Blog
- Wanton Creations (and this is a for real award, not just because you gave me one last week ;P )
I was sent my next award, the Liebster, a week later by the eclectic AllWorldIssues. I’ve been given quite a few of this same one, and I’m certainly not ungrateful, but I am aware that you guys are probably sick of me talking about the same awards? I try to keep awards posts to only doing them with new awards but I thought since I was doing one anyway I’d add this on too. After all, it’s always lovely to find a nomination waiting for you in that orange light and I sound a right prat for grumping about people saying ‘hey, I like your blog’.

The rules for the Liebster are to thank the person who nominated you (thank you very much!), answer the 11 question they have asked you, nominate 11 other people and ask them 11 questions in return. The Liebster award should be sent to bloggers with less than 200 followers so that new bloggers can see how awesome they are!
Questions for me:
1. What are my thoughts on the movie, ‘The School of Rock?’
This movie was awesome the first time! And the second. But not so much the third, I kind of watched this movie too much and now I can’t sit through it. Though I will continue to call people Fancy Pants and Turkey Sub.
2. Name your favourite place to eat and why:
I like to eat in bed, because then I can take my pants off.
3. What super power would you have?
I’ve discussed this important question extensively with my boyfriend, and we both agreed that the best power would be to control time. You can stop it whenever, and you don’t age while time is stopped, and you can start it again whenever you fancy. Awesome.
4. Thoughts on your schooling?
At primary school I had some great friends who were as weird as I was, though somehow cooler, like always. I liked my high school, too. Some people think that where I went to high school everyone was snobby and rich. I think being as insanely poor as I was / am I can attest that not everyone was like that. There wasn’t much bullying (though I did have 2 horrible falling out’s with 2 friendship groups that had me wailing) and for the most part, my year level got along. The school instilled a strong sense of ‘women can achieve anything they set their minds to’ in their students, which is brilliant.
5. Do you want kids? If so when and if not, why?
Of course! Though, only 1 or 2. I give myself the lee-way of 2 because twins runs in my family, and everyone has always said it will probably be me who has them. And it probably will be, just my luck – 2 at once! I couldn’t put a date on when except to say before I’m old, there’s no ‘perfect’ time for children they say.
6. Best movie at the cinemas at the moment?
I’d have to say Django Unchained. I loved it, and didn’t even know exactly why. I sat through the whole thing in awe.
Nominees:
- Ramblings of a Jerk

My questions for you guys if you’d like to accept your award:
1. What food can you not stand that other people enjoy?
2. The best book you’ve read?
3. What social injustice makes you the maddest?
4. If you could change 1 thing about how society is run, what would it be?
5. Would you rather be a famous rock star, or actor?
6. Do you enjoy the theatre?
7. Are you still friends with your childhood best friend?
8. Where would you like to visit?
9. Would you trust your siblings to name your children for you if they had to?
10. Do ancient cultures interest you?
11. How do you like to spend your Sunday?
Many thanks again for the awards, I hope awards posts don’t bore you all too much ![]()
You’re all lovely, and to those I sent awards to I really mean them.

Aw thank you…My first award… *blushes*
In fact, I’m such an awards virgin, it has taken me about ten minutes just to work out how to post the badge into my own blog. Ha!
What’s with the Yugoslavia thing? Maybe it needs it’s own post… But if you’re in your early twenties, was Yugoslavia even around when you were born? I was studying in Finland in 1991 and met Croatian refugees. I also met a Slovenian guy earlier. All considered themselves different from other ‘Yugoslavians’. Europe, it’s very confusing. I used to use this great game with the kids I taught, and I reckon it’s good for adults to do, me included! Not to mention fun, in a Tetris-type way:

Haha I’m glad.
Oh no I have no idea about the Yugoslavia thing. I’ve always wanted to know what countries are we originally from? How far back can we go? And none of my elders can even tell me where their grandparents were from. That was a mention from my mother about my birth grandmother’s nationality. I’m guessing that Yugoslavian was a guess itself.
Sigh, I need that television show where the celebrity goes to the library with a researcher and they find their entire family trees.
Thanks for the link, I like Tetris!
Thank you so much for nominating me. I’m speechless but honored. Rest assured that I’ll continue to speak out on issues that I think are worthy to be talked about. Am glad to see that you’re still doing your posts inspite of those trolls.Don’t let them win!
